Summer Transition
My kids are doing camp the next two-three weeks around my house and it's a whole new routine for us. The day camp experience is going well for them, but it reminds me that I am so happy to homeschool. The rigor of getting the kids packed and out of the house with lunches and backpacks is quite a different feel than our more relaxed homeschool schedule. When making playdates or going to coop activities the earliest we typically need to arrive is 10 AM. To get the kiddos out and presentable for 8:30 AM is helped vastly by our 5 minute commute to camp!
Once day camp is done we have family coming to visit for most of the month of July. This means playing with their abuelita and also spending quality time with their tio, tia y primos. We will be camping and daytripping and making meals together and visiting our local haunts with twice the family!
Then it will be August and my work schedule will get hectic again and our more formal homeschooling will get going in full force. In the meantime, we are trying to enjoy watergun fights in the yard and the fans going full force as we go to sleep at night.
Happy Summertime.
